Traditional BMS IO modules integrate the power and communication bus within the module, resulting in downstream devices ceasing to function upon removal of a module. In contrast, the Hot Swap Base only causes a brief 5-second interruption between neighbouring devices as the module connects to the ethernet system and the bypass relays reopen.
